Gunfight breaks out between terrorists & security forces in Kulgam district, J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, a gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces at Redwani area of Kulgam district. The operation between the joint team of security forces and the terrorists was underway when reports last came in.

Meanwhile, on the basis of specific information, a Cordon and Search Operation was launched at Ganai Mohalla in Doabgah area in Sopore by the joint team of security forces yesterday afternoon. During the operation, a Hideout belonging to banned terrorist organization Hizbul



Mujahideen (HM) was busted in the basement of a single story house.

A huge cache of Arms and Ammunition was recovered from the site, which was to be used to cause a major fidayeen attack on the security forces. The hideout was destroyed on the spot and an Over Ground Worker was arrested in the connection.

A Case under relevant sections of law has subsequently been lodged in Sopore Police Station and investigations are underway.
