Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced an interest waiver on certain crop loans while presenting the state Budget on Friday.

"I announce to waive interest and penalty on the crop loan in case the loan was availed till September 30, 2023, and the principal amount is paid by May 31, 2024, provided the farmer is registered with MFMB



(Meri Fasal Mera Byora)," the Chief Minister said, while presenting the Rs 1.89 lakh crore budget for financial year 2024-25.

At a time when the farmers are protesting at the Punjab-Haryana border, Khattar said that the Haryana government had taken several steps for the welfare of the peasants and Minimum Support Price (MSP) was being given for 14 crops.
