Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister yesterday said that the plot holders or residents of such colonies cannot be deprived of electricity connection.
Under new policy announced by the Chief Minister, the required electrical infrastructure would be created by distribution companies Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam by collecting development advance from the residents of colonies.
Simultaneously, recovery on account deficient electrical infrastructure will be made from the developer through cash deposit or by attaching their encumbrance properties by Town and Country Planning Department. After
recovery of charges from developers, the development advance, so collected from the consumers will be refunded.
CM Said that the policy decision will provide immediate relief to around 5,000 residents in the state, mainly located in Gurugram and Sonipat and in future, more than 25,000 plot holders who are yet to construct their houses will also be benefitted.
Further, existing 30,000 consumers in such colonies who are already having electricity connection would be benefited by getting quality power supply from Nigam and will not have to depend on costly generator back-up power.
