New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today dismissed the plea challenging compensation announced by the Delhi government for victims of last week's riots in northeast Delhi.
The bench comprising Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said "The compensation is being awarded
on a no fault basis. There is nothing wrong with it". The bench further added that "it is a policy decision" and it will "not interfere" in it. The High Court has also asked the Delhi government to ensure that compensation is paid only to riot victims.
