Health condition of Karunanidhi reported to be stable

The health condition of the DMK President and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi is reported to be stable. A press release of the Kauvery Hospital said that there was a transient setback in the clinical condition of Mr. Karunanidhi and with active medical support, his vital signs are normalising.

The doctor told that he continues to be closely monitored and treated by the panel of expert doctors. 

The 94-year old patriarch was being treated for low blood pressure and is at the ICU for the past two days.



Earlier, he was under medical care at his house after he was being treated for urinary tract infection and fever. 

Security has been strengthened in front of the hospital and also at the residence. Police have asked the shops in the area to close down their shutters and clear off the area as a measure to control the crowds. 

Senior leaders of the party are also at the hospital. DMK had also released a photo of the Vice President visiting the ailing leader inside the ICU.
