Heat wave conditions continued to sweep most parts of Odisha with 15 places recording above 40 degree Celsius yesterday. Met Department has, however, predicted rain in the state under the influence of a low pressure from today onwards. Met office said a low pressure is most likely to form over south-west Bay of Bengal by this evening which will precipitate
rainfall in most parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours. Yesterday, the industrial town Talcher recorded the highest temperature of 44.2 degree Celsius followed by Bolangir 43.5 and Titilagarh 43 degree Celsius.
According Special Relief Commissioner of the state, 181 deaths have been reported due to sun-stroke in the state this season so far.
