Amaravati: The AP State Government has put the district administrations of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore Chittoor, Prakasam and Y.S. R. Kadapa Districts on high alert as heavy rains lashed parts of  Rayalaseema and South coastal Andhra.  

The continuous and incessant rains have affected normal life in several places in Andhra, affecting normal life and inundating low-lying areas. Almost all the streams and rivulets are overflowing.

Heavy rains lashed several districts in AP and particularly, Prakasam, Chittoor, Nellore, and Kadapa districts have been experiencing heavy rains, triggering flood-like situations in several areas.  

The AP Chief Minister, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, took



stock of the situation over video conference with District Collectors of affected Districts and directed them to be on high alert till the situation comes to normalcy. He also directed the Officials to take the help of NDRF wherever their services are required.  

All the reservoirs in Tirumala, including Papavinasanam, Gogarbham, Akasaganga, and others, have reached full levels.  Vehicular traffic has been stalled at several places on the ghat road and in Tirumala due to landslides and uprooted trees falling on the roads.

While Guntur, Krishna, West, and East Godavari Districts have been experiencing Heavy to moderate rain since yesterday morning.
