Heavy rain lashes many districts in Maharashtra

Heavy rain lashed many districts in Marathwada, Vidarbha and Western Maharastra region on Sunday.

 

Heavy rain was witnessed in Nanded, Aurangabad, Parbhani, Akola, Washim as well as in Sangli, Nashik and Raigad districts.

 

The downpour caused waterlogging in many parts of these districts and power supply was interrupted due to the rain.

 

Two persons travelling in a car were washed away in Hingoli district, when the car fell in a stream which was overflowing on the road.

 

In



Raigad district, an old bridge near Kashid village was washed away due to heavy rain and two vehicles including a four wheeler and a two wheeler were also washed away.

 

Body of the bike rider was found in the search operation. One more person died in Nanded District due to lightning.

 

Yavatmal district also witnessed heavy rain and a bridge near Shelodi village in Darvha tehsil was washed away.
