Heavy rain lashes several parts of Madhya Pradesh

Heavy rain lashed several parts of Madhya Pradesh, snapping road connectivity in many remote areas. A number of rivers is the state have touched danger mark. Met department has predicted heavy rain in southern and central districts during the next 48 hours. 

Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over many parts in Madhya Pradesh and is likely to cause hefty rains in the coming days. Madhya Pradesh has recorded 20 percent more rainfall than normal in 19 districts in the monsoon from June 1 to July 17 this



year. 

Normal rainfall has been recorded in 16 districts of the state while the number of districts with low rainfall is 16. The highest rainfall 509 mm is recorded in Sehore and the lowest is 97.5 millimetres in Gwalior till date. 

The most affected districts are Balaghat, Mandla, Indore, Seoni, Chhindwara, Hoshangabad, Dewas, Khandwa, and Bhopal. Meanwhile, the cities like Jabalpur, Dhar and Khargone would also receive heavy rains within next one or two days.
