The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and South Interior Karnataka today. Rainfall in these regions will continue till the 16th of this month. Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Rayalaseema are also likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning today.
The weather agency also added that dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during the night and early morning hours over
Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and Jharkhand during the next 4-5 days.
IMD said that the minimum temperatures over northwest and east India is expected to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next 5 days. Temperatures can rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the western regions of the country in the coming 3 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over central India during the next 5 days.
