In Gujarat, as per the information received from the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains from 23rd July to 26th July, 2018 in Central Gujarat and North Gujarat. 

Saurashtra and South Gujarat will experience light rainfall in the coming days. However, the rescue work is going on particularly in the South Gujarat and Saurastra regions. 

The rainfall has reduced today. Water has started receding at present. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani yesterday, reviewed the situation with officials. The rain fall has solved drinking water issue of most of the parts of the state. 

As per information given by CM in press conference held on yesterday at Gandhinagar, 14 persons are dead due to drowning. Others 18



deaths are due to lightening, wall collapse, electric shock etc. reasons. 

Instructions are given for cleaning work in rain affected areas.

In Odisha heavy rain continues to pound several parts due to the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal. A number of places have been cut off due to flood waters in Nabarangpur District. Normal life has also been paralysed in Puri and Cuttack. In the last 24 hours, 17 people have died due to lightning. Special Relief Commissioner has directed all collectors to keep open the emergency control room round the clock. Leaves of state government officials have been cancelled.

Heavy to very heavy rain has been forecast in coastal and south Odisha for today.
