In Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains have thrown life out of gear in most parts of the state. Due to the incessant rains for more than 50 hours, the Rivers and drains are in spate and flood-like situation has arisen in most of the cities. The MeT Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in many districts including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Rajgarh and Gwalior today.

In view of the incessant rains, the School Education Department has again declared a holiday in schools in more than a dozen districts today. Due to the continuous rains,



the gates of most of the dams in the state have to be opened and due to this, all the major rivers of the state are in spate. 

Road connectivity in many major cities and villages have very badly affected in the entire state. No light and internet connection were reported throughout the day in most areas of the capital city Bhopal yesterday. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reviewed the situation in a meeting with the officials and appealed to the people to remain on alert.
