Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr P. K. Mishra yesterday chaired a High-Level Task Force meeting on air pollution in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). During the meeting, Dr Mishra reviewed various measures being undertaken to prevent and abate air pollution in Delhi-NCR.
He emphasised the need to shift to e-vehicles and also develop Electric vehicle charging infrastructure in NCR areas. He called for the strict implementation of the actions listed in the Graded Response Action Plan
(GRAP). Various steps to improve preparedness for dealing with the issue of adverse air quality in Delhi-NCR were decided in the review meeting.
Dr Mishra instructed the Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to rigorously monitor and implement action plans aimed at eliminating stubble burning. He stressed the need for full utilization of CRM machines, strengthening the supply chain for ex-situ management, and supporting small industries.
