In Uttar Pradesh, it was a day for high profile nominations for the 7th phase of elections. Congress state president and Party candidate from Varanasi, Ajay Rai filed his nomination yesterday while Union Minister and BJP candidate Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey filed his papers from Chandauli. A total of 8 BJP candidates filed their nominations for the 7th phase of elections yesterday which include film star and party candidate Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur ,



son of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar and Party candidate Neeraj Shekhar from Ballia, Parasnath Rai from Ghazipur. Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance candidates including Sanatan Pande from Ballia, Kajal Nishad from Gorakhpur and Rama Shankar Rajbhar from Salempur constituency also filed their nominations. BSP candidate Athar Jamal Laari filed his nomination from Varanasi constituency.
