Himachal Pradesh: 376 candidates file nominations for assembly elections on last day

In Himachal Pradesh, 376 candidates filed their nominations yesterday, the last day for filing nominations for assembly elections. With this, the total number of candidates has gone up to 630 for the 68-member assembly.

The nomination papers will be scrutinized tomorrow, while October 29 is the last date for



the withdrawal of candidature. The number of candidates is likely to come down as many of those who have filed papers are the covering candidates for the official candidates of the parties.

Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 12 to elect a new assembly.
