Himachal Pradesh is celebrating its 55th Statehood Day on Saturday. On this day in 1971, Himachal was carved out as an 18th state and got full statehood. The state level function is being organized at Baijnath in Kangra district where Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will
unfurl the national flag and take the salute of the march past to be presented by various contingents. On the occasion, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate development projects worth more than 70 crore rupees at Baijnath.
