Himachal Pradesh is celebrating its golden jubilee statehood day with full zeal across the state today. It was on this day in 1971 Himachal Pradesh became the 18th state of India.
The statehood golden jubilee function will be held at historic Ridge ground in Shimla today where BJP National president JP Nadda and Minister of state for finance Anurag Thakur will be present.
Home Minister Amit Shah will also address the function through video conferencing. Golden jubilee celebrations of statehood day will also be held at district as well as sub-divisional levels across the state today. The state-level event will be held at Ridge in Shimla at 11:00 am
onwards in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address the event virtually.
Special arrangements have been made for the live telecast of the program at various places in all districts. A special postal stamp would also be released to mark the occasion.
Chief Minister Jairam Thakur stated that the ‘golden jubilee’ of the statehood of Himachal Pradesh would be celebrated round the year by organizing 51 programs in various parts of the state. ‘Swarnim Rath Yatra’ will also be carried out to showcase the development journey of the hill state as a part of golden jubilee celebrations during the year.
