In Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the first-ever ‘Shimla Winter Carnival’ at the historic Ridge yesterday. The event started with a cultural parade and the participation of 450 women presenting Mahanati, showcasing the talent of self-help groups and Anganwadi workers.
The tourist destinations of Himachal Pradesh are fully prepared to welcome tourists and the state government is also leaving no stone unturned to attract visitors. The Winter Carnival is being organized in Shimla till January 5. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu flagged off the cultural parade at the beginning of the carnival on Monday.
On this occasion, he said that 30 thousand tourist vehicles have arrived in
Himachal Pradesh in the last two days, which is a good sign as the tourism industry is once again on its feet after the disaster.
The Chief Minister said that tourists are being welcomed in the state as per the tradition of "Atithi Devo Bhava". He said that the government has allowed all restaurants, dhabas and other food outlets in the state to remain open 24 hours a day till January 5th so that tourists do not face any inconvenience.
In the carnival, stalls have been set up for cultural performances as well as local dishes. Such events will certainly give tourists a chance to experience the culture and art of Himachal, as well as increase the state's revenue.
