Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday claimed that Muslims from neighbouring trouble-torn Bangladesh were trying to enter India to seek employment in the textile sector while the Hindus are staying there and fighting back the atrocities against them.
“Hindus are staying and fighting in Bangladesh. In the last one month, not a single Hindu person has been detected trying to enter India,” he said as
quoted by news agency PTI.
Claiming that 35 Muslim infiltrators were arrested in the last one month, Himanta said those crossing the India-Bangladesh border are not taking refuge in Assam but going to Bangalore, Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore to work in the textile industry.
“We have requested our Prime Minister to impress upon the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus,” he added.
