Union Home Minister, Amit Shah inaugurated a newly constructed lake and public park in Shela, Ahmedabad, in the presence of Padma Bhushan awardee Rajinikanth Shroff yesterday. Developed at an estimated cost of ₹21 crore, the project aims to enhance the ecological and recreational infrastructure of the area.
The lake, spanning 8.2 hectares, was beautified under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of UPL Limited, in collaboration with the District Administrative System and Ahmedabad Urban
Development Authority (AUDA). The development includes a walkway, parking facilities, an entry gate, and landscaping with lawns and tree plantations, making it an attractive destination for residents and visitors.
As part of the inaugural event, Mr. Shah toured the public park and participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the lake. The project underscores the importance of sustainable urban development and green spaces in improving the quality of life for citizens.
