Assam has flourished under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah while inaugurating several development projects at Amingaon in Guwahati, Assam. He said that North East is the new growth engine of India and said agitations undertaken in the state earlier had halted Assam's development and said Assam can be united through peace and not by guns.
He will take part as the Chief Guest in the ceremonial program for the establishment of Guwahati's second medical
college today. Home Minister is also distributing financial assistance to namghars under Asom Darshan scheme and also laying the foundation stone for the development and beautification of Batadrava.
In the same program, Mr. Shah is also ceremonially starting the work of 9 law colleges. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his cabinet colleagues are also taking part in the event.
The Home Minister will also hold a meeting with the State BJP leadership during his visit.
