Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the BHARATPOL portal developed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in New Delhi today. The BHARATPOL portal will streamline the processing of all requests for international assistance through INTERPOL, including the issuance of Red Notices and other colour-coded INTERPOL notices.

In a social media post, Mr Shah said that today is going to be a landmark day as the BHARATPOL portal developed by the CBI, will be launched. He said it would give a new edge to Indian investigation agencies by enhancing their global reach to fulfil the Modi government’s vision to build a secure Bharat for all.

Home Ministry said in a statement that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has taken several important initiatives to strengthen the country’s law enforcement agencies.

BHARATPOL portal will significantly facilitate Indian law enforcement agencies enabling real-time information sharing for faster access to international police assistance. The

growing footprint of transnational crimes including cyber-crime, financial crimes, online radicalization, organized crimes, drug trafficking, and human trafficking, necessitates rapid and real-time international assistance in criminal investigations.

To address this challenge, CBI has developed the BHARATPOL Portal, which will bring all the stakeholders on a common platform. By facilitating easier and faster access to international assistance, it will strengthen India’s efforts in combating transnational crimes. Suparna Saikia, Akashvani News, Delhi.

Mr. Shah will also present Police Medals to 35 CBI officers, who have been awarded the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation. Several dignitaries and senior officers from various Ministries and Departments, including the External Affairs Ministry, Home Ministry, DoPT, Central Vigilance Commission and Central Police Organisations will attend the event.
