Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Jammu and Kashmir today to review security situation in the state. During his four-day visit to the state, he will meet the Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Mr Singh has said that he is going to Jammu and Kashmir with an open mind and is ready to meet with anyone who wishes to help resolve differences through dialogue.
Mr Singh, who will travel to Srinagar, Anantnag, Jammu and Rajouri, will meet civil society members, leaders of political and social outfits,
business leaders and others. Mr Singh's in visit is considered a follow-up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech in which he had sounded a fresh reach-out to the people of the Kashmir Valley.
He will be accompanied by the Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of his Ministry. Mr Singh will also review Prime Minister’s Development Package and meet various delegations at Srinagar and Jammu.He will also interact with Jammu and Kashmir Police jawans, CRPF and BSF jawans in the state.
