The festival of colours Holi is being celebrated today and the festival signifies the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on the occasion. In his message, the President said, Holi celebrates spring and is a harbinger of hope and fulfillment in lives.
He hoped that this festival strengthens brotherhood and harmony amongst all people. Mr Mukherjee said, happiness should also be shared with the needy and downtrodden on
this day.
Vice President Hamid Ansari said that Holi marks the onset of warmer season and celebrates the victory of good over evil. He hoped that the festival brings peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness to everyones lives. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped that the festival will spread joy and warmth everywhere.
Delhi metro services will not be available till 2.30 PM today on all lines including Airport Express Line. The services will start after 2.30 PM and will continue its normal service thereafter.
