Aligarh: In a shocking incident reported from Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh, a man's left kidney was removed by doctors at a private hospital on the pretext of stone removal surgery. The 53-year-old victim identified as Suresh Chandra works as a home guard.
The matter came to light after Suresh suffered severe pain in lower abdomen and got his ultrasound done. What shocked him next was ultrasound showed that his kidney was missing.
Suresh is currently posted at Chief Development Officer's (CDO) office in Kasganj. Later, the CDO named Sachin ordered a probe after he was informed about the incident, according to a report in Times of India.
The CDO said he has asked the CMO to initiate a probe into the incident and submit a report. There was no reaction from the hospital in this regard.
According to Suresh, he got his first ultrasound done on April 14 which
showed presence of stones in the left kidney. Suresh, a resident of Nagla Taal village in Kasganj district, said he was later referred to a private hospital in Aligarh by a staff of diagnostic centre where he got his ultrasound done.
On April 14, the home guard got admitted to the hospital located on Quarsi Road and was operated upon the same day.
He was then told by doctors that his stones have been removed and was given a list of medicines. He was discharged from hospital on April 17.
After suffering pain, Suresh consulted a doctor in Kasganj who asked him to get an ultrasound done. Suresh said he was shocked to find that his one kidney was missing. Later, the home guard contacted the private hospital but did not get appropriate response from them.
The victim said he did not recognise the doctor who conducted the operation as he was under anesthesia.
