Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an all-party meeting on June 24 to discuss the situation in Manipur. This will be the first all-party meeting since the clashes broke out in the northeastern state.
The meeting will take place at 3 pm in Delhi. The motive of the meeting is to mull over the current
situation and the ways to restore normalcy in the strife-torn state.
Earlier in the day, nine Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators from violence-hit Manipur had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the people of the state have lost complete faith in the Nongthombam Biren Singh-led government.
