New Delhi: Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah yesterday chaired a review meeting in New Delhi on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Mr. Shah reviewed the functioning of the security grid and all security-related aspects. He reiterated the government’s unflinching resolve towards the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also reviewed the Area Domination Plan, Zero Terror Plan, law and order situation, and matters related to Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The Home Minister also reviewed the preparations for the G-20
meeting scheduled to be held in Srinagar next month and directed all concerned agencies to work in a coordinated manner for the successful conduct of the event.
The Home Minister lauded the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir’s administration and security agencies for the significant reduction in cross-border infiltration and improvement in the law and order situation. The Home Minister stressed strengthening the policing system. The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary, and other senior officials.
