Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday announced that the Government will soon bring National Counter Terrorism Policy and Strategy to fight terrorism and the terrorist ecosystem. Inaugurating two-day Anti-Terror Conference organised by National Investigation Agency NIA in New Delhi, Mr Shah said, in the last 10 years, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge, the government has adopted a strong approach against terrorism.
He said, Mr Modi’s call for zero tolerance against terrorism has been hailed all around the globe. Mr Shah said, a strong ecosystem has been developed in the country to fight against terrorism in the last ten years. He said, there has been a 70 per cent reduction in terrorist incidents from 2014 to 2021 in
comparison to the period 2006 to 2013.
The Union Home Minister said, the terrorist attacks and their conspiracy are against the country in a borderless and invisible manner. He stressed the need for special training for young officers saying they have to be equipped with the latest technologies.
Mr Shah said the three criminal laws will be the most modern and technically advanced in the world. He said, several laws related to security have been amended in recent times. During his speech, Mr Shah paid tributes to 36 thousand 468 police personnel who have sacrificed their lives to maintain the internal security and security of the borders of the country since Independence.
