New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always given special importance to the celebrations of Gurupurab. It said, the Ministry has facilitated the visit of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Nankana Sahib on the occasion of Gurupurab.

A total of two thousand four hundred and twenty Indian Sikh pilgrims departed for Pakistan to participate in the Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations through the Attari Road on the 6th of this month.

The pilgrims were issued a ten-day Pakistani Pilgrim Visa for Nankana Sahib and Sacha Sauda. They



traveled mainly under the banner of different Sikh Religious Organisations.

This includes Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Haryana Yatri Sikh Jatha, and Sukhmani Sahab Sewa Society, Haryana. The pilgrims are scheduled to return by the 15th of this month.

The Ministry said, a total of 433 pilgrims from India visited Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan, through Integrated Check Post, Dera Baba Nanak, Amritsar on Tuesday to offer prayers on the occasion of Gurupurab.
