India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heat wave conditions will prevail over parts of Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry till the 6th of April. The IMD has also predicted hot and humid weather to continue over Telangana and Karnataka during the next three days, and over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next five days.
Meanwhile, Northeast India will face enhanced rainfall and thunderstorm till the 7th of April. The IMD said that light to moderate rain and snow will fall over Western Himalayan
Region during the next 5 days. It added that thunderstorms and lightning will continue over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till the 5th of April.
The weather agency said that maximum temperatures will rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Northwest, Central and East India during next 3 days. No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected over south peninsular India during the next 5 days except parts of Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh where temperatures are likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during next 5 days.
