Bengaluru: The Income Tax department on Wednesday raided Karnataka Energy Minister DK Shivakumar's homes in Kanakapura and Sadashivanagar, and his resort where Gujarat Congress lawmakers are staying.
The Income Tax department raided the rooms of the Gujarat Congress MLAs at Shivakumar's Eagleton Golf Resort.
The Congress flew 44 of its MLAs to Bengaluru amid defections ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls scheduled for August 8. It had
alleged that the BJP tried to poach its MLAs.
Gujarat Congress leader and AICC spokesperson Shakti Sinh Gohil had last week accused the BJP of trying to purchase 22 MLAs by offering Rs 15 crore for cross-voting during the Upper House polls.
Defending the move to fly down its MLAs to Bengaluru from Gujarat, the Congress has also alleged that the BJP government in Gujarat was threatening its lawmakers and their families.
