Anurag Tewari, a 2007 batch Karnataka cadre Indian Administration Services (IAS) officer, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Lucknow's Hazratganj area on Wednesday morning.
Tiwari, who was a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, was staying at the Meera Bai Guest House for the last two days.
Inspector of Hazratganj police station AK Shahi said some passersby informed police



after spotting him lying on the road near the guest house. He said Tiwari's identity was ascertained from an identity card recovered from his belongings.
Shahi said a preliminary examination confirmed an injury on his chin while no other injury was visible on his body. He said Tiwari's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
