I&B Ministry suspends broadcast of 2 Kerala based news channels for 48 hours

Information and Broadcasting Ministry has suspended broadcast of two Kerala based news channels for 48 hours for their insensitive reporting of Violence in North East Delhi. 

The Ministry said, the reporting could have enhanced the communal disharmony when the situation is highly volatile. In



exercise of the powers conferred under sections of Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995, the Ministry has ordered to prohibit the transmission or re-transmission of Media One and Asianet News TV Channel for 48 hours on any platform throughout India till 8th of March.
