The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold wave conditions over Northwest and Central India during the next 3 to 4 days. 

According to IMD, cold wave conditions will likely prevail over Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh during the next 2 days and over Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh till the 15th of this month. In East India, these conditions will prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand during the next 3 days. 

Dense fog conditions will be present over late night and early morning hours in pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar till tomorrow and over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till the 17th of this



month. In Delhi-NCR, a slight fall in minimum temperature has been observed with a cold wave expected tomorrow as well as smog and shallow to moderate fog in the morning and night hours.
     
Meanwhile, IMD has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Karaikal today and tomorrow. Heavy rainfall will descend over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema today while over Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands tomorrow.
     
The Weather Agency said that minimum temperatures will gradually fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over East India during next the 2 days and over West India during the next 5 days
