India Meteorological Department IMD has forecast a fresh spell of heat wave to start over Northwest India from tomorrow including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana till the 18th of this month.
The IMD added that hot and humid weather will prevail over coastal Maharashtra and Goa today, and over Gujarat till tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the weather agency has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and squally winds over Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha
and Gujarat today. These conditions will also continue over West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 6 days. In North India, similar conditions will prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 6 days.
The IMD said that maximum temperatures will rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over Central India during the next 4 days. No significant change is expected over the rest of the country.
