IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Will Continue In Some Parts Of Country For Next 4 Days

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that extremely-heavy rainfall will continue to batter Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeastern part of the country for the next 4 days.

 

The IMD said, isolated extremely- heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya and Assam are likely to witness similar weather conditions till the 18th of this month.

The weather department also forecast that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to persist over northern parts of India during the next 4



days.

Yesterday, heat wave conditions observed in most parts with severe heat wave condition at isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.

Heatwave conditions were also observed at isolated places over north Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh and in many parts of Himachal Pradesh.

In Delhi, the IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies with strong surface winds gusting up to 40 Kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to hover around 44 degrees Celsius.
