The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand today. It said rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and hail is expected over parts of East, Central, and adjoining peninsular India till Thursday, with peak intensity of rainfall and hailstorms today
The IMD said, heavy rainfall, hailstorms, and squall speed reaching 50 to 60 kilometres per hour are also very likely in these regions today. The weather
department forecasts light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Telangana till tomorrow, with the possibility of hailstorms today.
It said that Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will also witness moderate rainfall until Thursday, with heavy rainfall and hailstorms today. Sunny to partly cloudy weather is likely in Delhi today and the maximum temperature is expected to rise to 32 degrees Celsius during the daytime.
