The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad today.
Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura can also experience dense fog in the night and morning hours today. The weather office further predicted rainfall with lightning and thunderstorms over coastal Andhra
Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Puducherry today.
According to the IMD, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Central and East India during the next 5 days. Minimum temperatures over the Northwestern region of the country can fall by 2 degrees Celsius during the next two days. The met department also forecasts a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Western India in the coming 2 days.
