The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Kerala, Karnataka and Maharastra for heavy rainfall, thunderstorm, and lightning.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, South Odisha and Bay of Bengal during next two to three days.

The Weather agency has forecast light rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and Rajasthan today.

Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over North East region, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim is



likely during next seven days. Similar conditions are also likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till tomorrow.

IMD further said that light to moderate rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal is likely during next four days.

On Heat wave, IMD has issued an orange alert in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana are also likely to face similar conditions for the next two to three days. Hot and humid weather is predicted over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand for next two days.
