India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with cold to severe cold day conditions to continue. The IMD forecasts dense to very dense fog at night and morning hours in parts of Punjab and Haryana to continue till tomorrow and over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura for the next two days.
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall over parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 3 to 4 days. Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected
over Maharashtra today and tomorrow, and hailstorm over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow. It also predicts light rain and snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on tomorrow.
The IMD has also warned fisherman to not venture into coasts of Tamil Nadu, adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin Area due squally weather and wind speed gusting upto 55 kilometers per hour.
The weather agency predicts no significant change in minimum temperatures over northern India during the next 4 days.
