The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the heatwave over some areas of Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch today. The weather agency predicted heatwave conditions over Haryana, Chandigarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, and East Madhya Pradesh during the 2-3 days.

department predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degree Celsius over many parts of Northwest India, Central India and Maharashtra during the next 3 days. According to the IMD, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe are expected to witness heavy rainfall today.
