The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for heatwave in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for next three to four days.
Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in some pockets of Jammu Division, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha during next five days.
Meanwhile, IMD said that conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into more parts of the north Arabian Sea, Gujarat and Maharashtra during next two
days.
The Weather department has issued orange alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka for the next four to five days.
Similar conditions are also likely over most parts of South India.
IMD further said that light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely over North East region, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next seven days.
