IMD issues yellow alert for persistent heat wave in Mumbai

Mumbai: The IMD has issued a yellow alert for today forecasting a persistent heat wave in the north Konkan region including Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane. IMD said the heat wave that began in the region since last weekend got intensified yesterday. The weather bureau has predicted the heatwave to last till today.
The
temperature soared around 39 degrees and higher over the last few days which is nearly 6 degrees above normal. IMD has also issued a list of guidelines to be followed which includes avoid going out in sun especially between 12Noon and 3 PM, drinking enough fluids among others.
