India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several regions in Maharashtra as thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and varying rainfall are expected during the next two days.

The alert indicates that residents in the Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga, Ahilya Nagar, Pune, Satara and some of Marathwada



regions should prepare for thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.

In addition, the IMD warns that Sangli and Solapur will likely experience thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall. This could lead to potential disruptions and flash floods in low-lying areas.
