India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Western, Central and coastal parts of the country for the next two to three days. Light to moderate rainfall is expected over northwestern parts of the country for the next five days.
According to IMD, the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining North Gujarat has moved westwards. It is likely to move slowly west-southwestwards across Saurashtra and Kutch regions and reach its coast and adjoining areas of Pakistan and northeast Arabian Sea
by tomorrow morning.
Under this influence, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, Rajasthan, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to witness very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall till 31st of this month. Meanwhile, several parts of Delhi and the national capital region have witnessed moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning since the early hours of today.
