The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted favourable conditions for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of the country. It will cover parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during the next 2 to 3 days. The IMD added that the monsoon is likely to advance into the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar during the next 3 to 4 days.
The weather agency has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall along the West Coast during the next five days. Isolated
heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh till the 28th of this month. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on the 27th and 28th of June.
The IMD has also forecast heatwave conditions to continue over pockets of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Rajasthan until today. No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected over the rest of the country.
