IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall across the country this week

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall lightning over East, West, Central, North- West and North East regions of the country during the week. IMD said, heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Jammu-Kashmir till Saturday.

The weather agency has forecast scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate



rainfall for South Peninsular regions of the country during the next 5 days. Heavy rainfall is very likely over Coastal Karnataka today. IMD said that a cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand, adjoining north Odisha, Chhattisgarh in lower and middle tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the same region during the next 24 hours.
