Jharkhand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed his first rally in poll-bound Jharkhand and launched a scathing attack on the Congress over the Ayodhya matter. PM Modi said the Congress party had sought to delay the verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case. Just days ago, Home Minister and BJP president Amit Shah had also accused the Congress of same.

PM Modi said the Congress delayed a solution in the matter for the sake of vote bank.

“The matter of dispute over the birthplace of Lord Ram was stalled by Congress. Had they wanted, a solution could've been found much earlier. But they didn't do that, they cared about their vote bank. Such thinking of Congress affected the country,” the PM said in Daltonganj, Palamu.

The PM further made a strong pitch for returning the BJP government in Jharkhand, stating that it would continue to protect the state’s resources. The PM also noted that the BJP government in Jharkhand, under Chief Minister Raghubar Das, is the first government to complete a five-year term.

“The BJP government gave stability and good governance in Jharkhand. It is the first time in the state's history that a chief minister had completed a five-year term,” Modi

said.

“No matter what the Opposition parties say, the BJP will continue to protect Jharkhand's 'jal', jungle and 'jameen' (water, forest and land),” he added.

The PM said the BJP has worked day and night to end corruption in the state in the last five years. We have “made efforts to curb Naxalism in Jharkhand”, the PM said, while paying tribute to policemen killed in the recent Naxal attack in Latehar.

“Naxalism was an issue due to political instability here. Governments used to get toppled here; they didn't want to serve the people but simply enjoy power. How could there have been proper roads, industries and electricity, given the situation which was here,” he added.

“Jharkhand, especially Palamu, has always been a strong fortress for the BJP. If lotus is blooming across the country today, it's due to the blessings of the people here and the party workers. The people here have always stood by 'kamal',” the PM said further.

“Under the leadership of BJP, it is very important for Jharkhand that a strong and stable government is formed here,” he went on to say.

Jharkhand (81 Assembly seats) will go to polls in five phases, beginning from November 30, and the results will be announced on December 23.
