The incessant rains continue in Andhra Pradesh and as a result the Godavari overflows. The flood situation in Alluri Seetharamaraju, East Godavari, and Eluru Districts is worsening with the water level in Godavari has been increasing rapidly by hour by hour.

More than 15 lakh cusecs of flood water has been released from Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowleswaram. As flood warning signal two is already in force, there is every chance to announce warning number 3 if the inflows increase further.

situation in Alluri Seetharamaraju District is very precarious. Most of the Godavari, river bed villages have been marooned in flood waters. NDRF and SDRF Teams are deployed in Alluri Seetharamaraju District to tackle any tough situation. On the other hand, water has entered several villages in Konaseema District and more Lanka (island) villages have become vulnerable. Several villages in West Godavari District are marooned in flood waters. The District Administrations of the aforesaid Districts have been attending to all the necessary measures.
