Income Tax raids on Apollo Hospitals

Investigations wing of Income Tax department on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids on offices of healthcare major Apollo Hospitals group in Chennai and other parts of the country for a possible tax evasion. Though there was no official communication from I-T department on this issue, a statement from the healthcare group confirmed the searches.

"The IT department visited our hospitals today (Tuesday) and we extended our complete cooperation to them. We have always conducted ourselves with the highest degree of diligence



and would like to reassure our patients, shareholders and stakeholders that we shall uphold their trust and faith in us," Apollo Hospitals said in the release.

The I-T searches which commenced at 8.30 am on Tuesday continued till late in the evening. In addition to raids in Chennai and New Delhi, I-T also carried out some checks at the Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, in the city. 

“A team of I-T officials visited the hospital in Jubilee Hills and collected some information from some accounts staff.
